you-are-what-you-eat-for-realWe must eat in order to live. But the types of food you consistently consume will have an enormous effect on the life you live.

The quote “you are what you eat” can be equal to “what you consume is what will consume you.” So think on that for a moment.

Common knowledge tells us that the best type of foods for our physical body comes from the dust of the ground. All of the fruits, vegetables, nuts, plants, and herbs all are grown out of the same soil we were created from.

Gen 2:7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. The dust of our earth contains many vital nutrients, phytochemicals, minerals, and vitamins that our physical bodies consist of. We must take in these types of foods if we want to be healthy.

Gen 2:9 And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food…

We are what we eat! God has given us the incredible gift of our body. We have the choice of how we will take care of it. When we consistently pollute ourselves with boxed, processed, sugared, modified, fatty, fake foods we are choosing to tear down and destroy our body rather than build it up.

God needs our body to be strong and able to endure hardships so we can be properly used by Him. How we take care of our body will have a direct impact on how well we can be used by God!

We HAVE to make better choices every day for GOD’s glory, not ours!

When you choose to consistently consume and hydrate your body with the things God created us to use you will find superior physical health and vitality. You will also gain victory over your fleshly desires. After all, this is a battle of our flesh against our spirit.

In the same way that we have choices over how we take care of our physical, we have choices to make for our spiritual body.

What you consume is what will consume you

Jer 15:16 Thy words were found and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of my heart

Job 23:12 I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

Even more important that eating your fruits and veggies is consuming the Word of God Every day! Your physical body will eventually die no matter how well you eat or how much you exercise.

But your spiritual body lives eternally. So pay close attention to how you feed your soul. Are you consumed by screen time, pretty things, being successful, or just daily duties? That’s all temporary and worldly.

We must seek to strengthen and feed our souls through regular daily spiritual exercise and nutrition. Read your bible, pray every day and you will grow grow grow…LOL it’s the truth! (And now that song is stuck in my head!) But if you neglect your bible and forget to pray you will shrink and weaken.

I hope this is all making sense. I have so much to say on connecting the physical and spiritual bodies. It’s so hard to organize my thoughts and get a point out there. I just know it’s a huge part of life that many miss or choose not to do because it takes so much effort. It’s hard to hear and hard to do but it’s necessary for us to continue trying.

I just went through a wonderful book that fully explains connecting both bodies and how to improve them together. Is anyone interested in beginning a book study on this? Maybe next month?

Being healthy and strong physically and spiritually is the best thing you can do for God. Because if you are weak or sick or diseased then how will we fulfill all that he has called us to do?

1 Cor 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do ALL to the glory of God.
