There are 3 things we must have in order to physically live in this world. Water, food, and air.
Let’s first further discuss water.
Health benefits of water
Water is your body’s principal chemical component and makes up about 60 percent of your body weight. Every system in your body depends on water. For example, water flushes toxins out of vital organs, carries nutrients to your cells, and provides a moist environment for ear, nose and throat tissues.
Lack of water can lead to dehydration, a condition that occurs when you don’t have enough water in your body to carry out normal functions. Even mild dehydration can drain your energy and make you tired.
So how are your energy levels on a normal basis? Do you drink enough water? Your body needs it to thrive and to be cleansed.
This simple task of drinking a lot of water every day can have huge health benefits and there’s no reason not to. Good pure spring water is best! Avoid tap if possible.
In the same way that our physical body needs water for survival our souls also need to be properly hydrated to thrive.
We are dry and drained without God. He is what satisfies and hydrates our eternal being.
Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: 14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
God’s living water not only quenches our eternal soul. It also cleanses our souls in the same way clean water does for our physical body.
1John 1:7 says the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin…
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Do you see the similarities of how both our body and soul must have water in order to function properly?
If you only focus on drinking physical water you may be physically satisfied and energized but you will be spiritually drained.
If you worry more about hydrating your spiritual body you may feel spiritually satisfied but physically you will be drained and lacking.
We must always take care of our physical and spiritual body in the same way! Neglecting one of them will weaken the other.
Does that make sense?
You know which body of yours is more unhealthy. It’s time for a change! We need to become stronger together physically and spiritually.
Discipline yourself today to complete the small physical challenges you have. Water, squats, and push-ups. But do not ever leave out seeking God and living every day for Him!
